CMW 2018

CMW Showcase Is Set – May 8th!
April 11, 2018

We’re under a month away from the big day – the big week! All the big names will gather to tough it out on stages both big and small here in our hometown of Toronto. We’re so pleased to announce that we’ll be joining that list for the first time.
The place will be Cherry Cola’s Rock And Roll Cabaret Lounge.
Matt Groopie booked us for the show – he’s been a part of our story since we first played a show with him last year. In short, he does it all. He books shows for multiple venues, plays in multiple bands, and organises multiple open mic events. In a world where booking agents and bands can be at each others throats, we’re happy to call Matt Groopie a friend, and happy to be playing at one of our favourite venues in the city.

That’s about it – we’ll see you at CMW.
Tuesday May 8th @ Cherry Cola’s. (See dates page for more)

Going Toward The Light – CBC Searchlight
January 2018

We’ve entered one of our songs into a national contest. CBC Searchlight listens to thousands of song submissions every year, in search of the next big voice in Canadian music. It’s an exciting opportunity and one we’re excited to be part of.

Big Turnout For “The Bout”
March 3, 2017

The room was about half full at 11:30pm this past Saturday when we took the stage. It was our first set at the relatively newly relocated, “The Hideout” in Toronto.

As the set carried on, the energy continued to build. Louder and dancier, the crowd became, as we ploughed through a mix of new music and favourite covers like, ‘Another Brick In The Wall,’ and ‘Oh, The Boss is Coming’ by Arkells. What else can we say other than that we were absolutely floored by the crowd. In comparison to some other shows you play as a band on the long road down building a fan base, Saturday night at ‘The Bout’ was the culmination of much hard work. Thanks so much Jimmy Good, and everyone involved in organizing the evening.

Trek For Teens
August 2017

It’s not every day that you get to play in Nathan Phillips Square for you fellow Torontonians. Amazingly, CYGNUS got to do it – and for a good cause as well.
Every year, Ryerson and the University Of Toronto come together for the Trek For Teens initiative. It’s a fundraising exercise aimed at helping homeless youth in Toronto. That energy and spirit was certainly felt in the square on Saturday. A bright sunny day, bustling streets, and families gathering for games and live music. It was a pleasure working with Judith Wang and the Trek For Teens organizers.
